The AR cover glass suppliers are expanding against demand heats up

With AR glasses expected to gain real traction soon, upstream suppliers are already expanded production to get ahead.

Yixin Optoelectronics launched a new 1.2 billion yuan smart display cover plant in June 2026, focusing on full-chain 3A covers:anti-glare, anti-reflection, and anti-fingerprint. At full capacity, it's projected to generate 1.2 billion yuan in annual output for car displays and consumer electronics. The move shows that anti-reflection and anti-fingerprint coatings are quickly becoming standard features.

Schott, a global specialty glass leader and key optical supplier for Meta Ray-Ban, is investing another 60 million yuan to expand its AR tech center in Suzhou, focusing on diffractive and geometric reflective waveguide development.

Bern Optics, already a top name in smart device exterior solutions, now covers AR/VR lens covers as well, leveraging its phone glass cover expertise to move into AR optical components.
