Nowaday Cover Glass News

Mar 13, 2026

When you process glass in phones, tablets, wearables, or any stuff carry around all day-You will get more work than you can.

The Numbers

The consumer electronics cover glass meet $7.75 billion in 2025, headed to $10.85 billion in 2032.CAGR approximate 5%.Not explosive but steady. Phones still keep the biggest piece-Around 30% consumption. Computers another 35%, wearables 25% and else fills the rest.

The whole cover glass market $9.81 billion in 2025 expected to $13.78 billion in 2030. CAGR 8.9%. Growth drivers usually depends: foldables, wearables, better materials, curved designs.

Who drives it

The frequency for people upgrade phones every 2-3 years. The tablets last longer but still in cycle. Wearables growing crazy-smartwatches, fitness trackers, AR glasses coming soon. All of them needs cover glass.

And the glass keeps getting smarter. Harder coatings. Better AG. Thinner profiles that still survive drops. Curved edges that look premium but are a pain to process.

The Foldable Piece

This is where things get interesting. Apple's rumored foldable iPhone (expected September) is likely using UFG-glass that's thicker in non-bend areas, thinner where it folds . After 100,000 folds, crease depth is about 0.05mm. You won't see it .

UTG vs UFG? They'll coexist. UFG goes high-end-flagship foldables where cost isn't primary. UTG stays mainstream with mature process and reliable yields . Forecast says UFG goes from under 5% now to over 30% in 3-5 years .

China might run higher-8-10% penetration by 2030-because supply chain is clustered here and local brands adopt faster .
