The Smart Glass Innovation Empowers The Future-China Glass 2026 Concludes Successfully
May 13, 2026
From April 7 to 10, 2026, the 35th China International Glass Industrial Technical Exhibition (China Glass 2026) was held at Shanghai New International Expo Centre. Launched in 1986, the exhibition has grown into a key bridge connecting China's glass industry with the world, witnessing its shift from technology introduction to independent innovation over four decades.
Covering over 90,000 square metres across seven halls, the event attracted 889 exhibitors from 31 countries and regions, including 192 international ones. Traditional glass powerhouses like Germany and Italy showcased full-chain innovations via national pavilions, focusing on smart manufacturing, green technologies and high-end functional glass.
Record-High Visitor Turnout
A total of 147,575 professional visitors from 138 countries and regions attended, with 17,885 from overseas, representing over 30 end-use sectors. Active delegations from home and abroad conducted targeted business negotiations, reflecting the Chinese market's strong appeal and the industry's resilience amid global economic uncertainties.
Key Exhibition Highlights
High-End Functional Glass: Glass has evolved from a construction material to a core functional component. Triumph Group displayed 30μm foldable glass, while Jinjing Group's TCO conductive film glass and Qibin Group's BIPV glass met new energy and display industry demands. Xinyi and CSG also launched energy-efficient coated glass for buildings.
Smart Manufacturing: The sector shifted from standalone automation to full-plant unmanned operation. Lisec, North Glass and Yinrui Intelligence showcased automated production lines, smart control systems and MES/ERP solutions, improving efficiency and consistency.
Green & Low-Carbon Technologies: Centred on zero-carbon furnaces, solutions included Qinhuangdao Institute's full-oxygen combustion and hydrogen-fuel technologies, as well as Honeywell's clean combustion systems, cutting energy consumption and emissions.
AI & Digitalization: AI moved from concept to application, with China Building Materials Academy's CBMA-based R&D intelligent agent and Carl Zeiss' AI defect detection system, reshaping R&D, production and quality inspection.
Supporting Technical Seminars
Co-hosted by the Chinese Ceramic Society and leading enterprises, technical seminars covered sealing systems, equipment solutions and furnace technologies, facilitating in-depth exchanges between visitors and experts.
China Glass 2026 reinforced its status as a global glass industry benchmark. It will continue to promote international cooperation and drive the industry toward intelligence, green development and high-end upgrading in the next four decades.
