The structure of cover glass

To cover glass, it mainly created by glass substrate + inks. But some other treatments added base on various of applications including chemically strengthened, 3A(Anti glare, anti reflection, anti fingerprint) coatings and bonding(3M & Tape). It's the outermost part of LCD module.

What's The Benefits Of Cover Glass?

There are 4 core benefits can be introduced including:

Protection: After chemically strengthened it can reach hardness around 6-8H(Depends on strengthening time and different substrates).

Clarity: The cover glass can reach 91% above transmittance and if it's not enough, AR coating(single sides or double sided) can be applied can reach up to 99% to avoid clarity sacrifice.

Touch Function: Cover glass is not merely a protective window for displays, it is a critical functional layer that directly supports and stabilizes the entire touch input system of touch screens.

Appearance: According to customize shapes, patterns and colors, the cover glass become the most premium role in whole device.

What Kind Of Glass Substrates Used?

There are 2 kinds of regular glass substrates for cover glass including:

Soda lime glass: It's a cheaper option but less hardness(6H), the brands like AGC, SCG etc.

Aluminosilicate: It's a higher cost choice but better hardness(8-9H) and silkscreen print effects, the brands like Dragon Tail, Panda and Gorilla.

The processing thickness range from 0.4mm to 3.0mm depends on different requirements.
