GL Recommends Aluminosilicate Glass To Korean Customer

Today, we met a new Korean customer demands for glass in medical device screen. The requirements focus on premium surface quality, high hardness and clarity, so we recommend aluminosilicate glass base on the requirements.

To aluminosilicate glass, the hardness(8H) performance is better than soda lime glass(6H). Though the cost a little higher but clarity performance also excellent.

During discussion, we also learned the customer in need of coatings including AR, AF and AG. All these coatings can be done by us in house.

About tolerance, we recommend thickness +/-0.05, dimensions +/-0.02 base on big sizes, which all can satisfy with customer's need.

Meanwhile, the Korean customer also paying concern about silk screen print and ask 2 solutions: Low temperature ink and ceramic ink, which one will be the better choice.

We recommend low temperature ink because for ceramic ink, thermal tempering will be needed to allow the ink unibody in glass itself. But for aluminosilicate glass isn't a good choice for thermal tempering.

Also for thermal tempering, the flatness isn't good as chemical strengthening. It's important especially for screen display performance.
