China Display Glass Substrates And Covers Keep Gradually Pushing Forward

In high generation display glass(G8.5 and above) market, Chinese local production still take less than 10% market. It means companies like Shaohong Specialty Glass started supply 8.5G alternatives, which is a quiet but meaningful step.
On the semiconductor front, Triumph Science & Technology and Kibing Group are developing low-expansion aluminum borosilicate glass blanks. Both are now moving into TGV (through-glass via) sample validation - essentially getting their materials ready for advanced packaging trials.
As for flexible UTG (ultra-thin glass), Triumph has already delivered 30-micron foldable glass, and it's now being used in actual foldable screen products. That's one area where domestic progress is further along than many expected.
Nothing dramatic overnight – but steady progress across substrate, cover, and ultra-thin segments.
